Tulsa Police: Homeowner Uses Plate To Fight Off Burglar

A 29-year-old Tulsa man is in jail after breaking into two east Tulsa homes and getting hit with a plate Monday evening, police say.

A Tulsa man is in jail after a being hit with a plate while breaking into an east Tulsa home Monday evening, police say.

According to a Tulsa County jail report, Jason Manns, 29, broke into a home in the 12200 block of East 39th Street just after 8 p.m.

Police say Manns surprised a resident in the home who hit him on the head with a plate.

The report states Manns ran down the street and broke into a second home, in the 3900 block of South 122nd East Avenue.

Manns chased a woman there through the home then outside. The woman screamed for help and called 911.

The report said Manns ran away but was apprehended by Tulsa Police nearby.

Jason Manns was booked into jail on two complaints of first degree burglary with a $40,000 bond. He is scheduled to appear in court on March 11, 2013.
