Police Crack Down On Speeders In East Tulsa School Zones

As you're driving your student back to school Monday in Tulsa or if you're just on the way to work, Tulsa Police say look out for those school crossing signs.

Police are cracking down on speeders in school zones and it could cost drivers hundreds of dollars if caught breaking the law.

Tulsa Police say there will be no warnings this week if you're caught speeding in an active school zone. An active school zones means the lights are flashing on the traffic signal.

Tulsa Police's Mingo Valley Division says citations for speeding in a school zone require a court appearance and you can be fined up to $500 be sentenced to a month in the Tulsa County jail.

The stepped up enforcement by Tulsa Police is any school zone south of I-244 and east of Sheridan.
