A woman narrowly avoided being crushed Wednesday afternoon after two SUVs crashed on South 91st Street.

The collision happened around 4 p.m. on South 91st Street near Highway 169.

Police said a woman driving a white SUV was turning left onto the highway and struck another SUV going straight through the intersection.

The driver of the second vehicle was ejected through the sunroof as it rolled over onto the curb. Police said her life was probably saved by the vehicle rolling onto the curb, preventing her from being crushed.

Police said she and three other people in that vehicle were transported to a hospital. They said the driver was transported in serious condition, but that her injuries didn't appear to be life threatening. The passengers also escaped with non-life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the white SUV was not injured.

Police said they weren't sure yet which driver was at fault.
