While you slept Friday night, News On 6 was busy making the first major move to its new home in the Brady District.
A team of engineers unhooked countless pieces of equipment from our studios on Frankfort and re-installed them at the Griffin Communications Media Center about a mile away.
Uprooting the entire master control area of a TV station takes almost a year of planning.
"We are all very excited," News On 6 engineering director Gerald Weaver said. "It is history in the making, and we're all very excited about the process and being there."
The master control area is the nerve center. It's where we control everything you see on our channel.
Starting at midnight, 50 people began moving the equipment to the new building.
The move will be complete, and we'll air our first newscast from the new facility, after the first of the year.
