From The KOTV Vault: Wacky Contests From The 1980s

Editor's note: We're about to move into a new building, so we're taking inventory of everything in our current one. We've found all kinds of interesting old stories and we're sharing the best of them here.

The 2012 Presidential election has come and gone, but elections are not the only kind of contest that pit one side against the other.

We filmed one story about cockroach races. Another of a hamburger eating contest at a Tulsa McDonalds in the early 1980s.

Three Memorial High school students found out how many hamburgers they could eat in five minutes. Then there was the oyster eating contest

There was also a waiters' race in 1984 sponsored by the Excelsior Hotel - now the DoubleTree.
