A woman is dead after being hit by a van in Broken Arrow Wednesday evening.

Broken Arrow Police say the incident happened at 7:30 p.m. in the 1300 block of East Kenosha.

Officers say 40-year-old Shawn Davis, of Broken Arrow, entered the roadway and walked into the path of an eastbound 1992 GMC van.

A Broken Arrow ambulance took her to the hospital where she was pronounced dead.

Police said the driver of the van, 43-year-old Rusty Sutton, of Broken Arrow, was wearing a seat belt and was not injured. They said they don't suspect alcohol use was a factor in the crash.

Police said, after a preliminary investigation, they don't think the driver did anything improper.

This is the second pedestrian death in Broken Arrow in the past week. A Broken Arrow man was struck and killed Friday evening near 91st Street South and Dogwood.
