An 18-year-old man was arrested for shooting fireworks at a group of people in a grocery store parking lot Wednesday night.

Christopher James Taylor, from Bartlesville, was arrested on complaints of assault with a dangerous weapon, possession of explosives, and third-degree arson.

Bartlesville Police said they responded to a call that Taylor was shooting fireworks out the window of a vehicle at a group of people in the Food Pyramid grocery store parking lot, just before midnight on Wednesday.

They believe Taylor also caused a fire that burned some trees on the north side of the grocery store.

At the scene, police said they seized a Roman candle out of the vehicle Taylor was in. They said Taylor admitted to being the one who shot the Roman candle at the people in the parking lot.

Tulsa Police reported at least two incidents this week which involved suspects shooting a Roman candle or mortar style fireworks at other people, including at police and news crews.
