State troopers will beef up security along major roadways this 4th of July holiday.
"Checkpoints are a good tool for crime fighting, especially in DUI prevention," said Lieutenant George Brown, Oklahoma Highway Patrol.
"But it isolates us to one place and we feel that we can better cover Tulsa County and the surrounding counties with saturation patrol."
Beginning June 29th until July 8th, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol said they will concentrate on DUI offenders, aggressive or reckless driving, and making sure people are wearing their seatbelts.
There won't be any checkpoints.
OHP said they will focus on I-244 and I-44 between US Highway 75 and US Highway 169, I-44 East to the Creek Turnpike, US Highway 75 North to Washington County line, and US 412 West to Keystone Lake.
