Tulsa Public Schools settled two separate civil lawsuits Friday, brought by parents who allege their children were sexually abused by a former TPS administrator.

Court records show TPS agreed to pay $25,000 each to the families of two of Robert Yerton, Jr.'s young accusers.

Yerton was accused of having sexual contact with two Skelly Elementary school students in 2009.

He faces five felony charges and is set to stand trial this fall.

The lawsuits said even though TPS received complaints about Yerton while he was at Disney Elementary, police were not called.

They also state that when a counselor at Skelly Elementary complained about the same thing, she was admonished.

The district did not admit guilt, but says it settled to avoid expensive litigation.
