The state Fire Marshal's Office investigator looking into Wednesday's fatal house fire in Boynton was unable to determine the cause of the fire. However, he says the fire does not seem to be suspicious.

An elderly woman and her son died in the Muskogee County fire.  Firefighters found the bodies of 83-year-old Mary Love and her 57-year-old son, Clarence Crane, next to each other inside the 1,500-square foot home.

The Fire Marshal's Office says there were smoke detectors in the home, but it was not sure if they were working at the time of the fire.

The fire investigator says someone driving by saw the son run outside and grab a garden hose, but it apparently was too short as he tried to drag it inside.

The driver saw the man go back inside and not come out. Fire officials believe the son was trying to rescue his mother when he succumbed to the smoke.
