The Oklahoma Special Olympics Summer Games are off and running on the campus of Oklahoma State University in Stillwater.
Over the next two days, more than 4,400 athletes will compete in nine sports during three days of competition and fun.
The Flame of Hope was carried from Tulsa to Stillwater into the ceremony by the Law Enforcement Torch Run.

Special Olympics Oklahoma Head Coach Barry Switzer is celebrating his 40th year as head coach of the games. News On 6 Sports Director John Holcomb was on hand to co-emcee the Opening Ceremony held Wednesday evening.
Athletes participating in this year's games come from the 14 geographic areas of Oklahoma where they have completed competitions in the their local areas.
Special Olympics Oklahoma athletes will compete in nine different sports including Track and Field, Bocce, Bowling, Golf, Horseshoes, Powerlifting, Unified 3-on-3 basketball and Unified Softball.
The games are held from May 9-11.
