TULSA, Oklahoma – New TU coach Danny Manning has added UMKC assistant coach Wendell Moore as an assistant on the Tulsa basketball coaching staff.
Moore was an assistant coach at UMKC for the past four seasons. Before that, he was an assistant coach at Florida Atlantic from 2006-08.
He also spent time at Redlands Community College in Oklahoma.
Manning said Moore's experience and connections in the area will serve the team well.
"He's been in the coaching profession for a very long time and has established strong recruiting ties around the country, especially in Texas, junior colleges and the Midwest region," Manning said. "I've known Wendell for a very long time and am pleased to have him and his family become a part of our TU family."
During Moore's two seasons as an assistant coach at Redlands Community College in El Reno, his teams compiled a 50-10 record.
Moore said he already feels very comfortable and familiar coming into the program for the upcoming season.
"This is a tremendous opportunity for me in joining Danny's staff," Moore said. "It's not too common to have a staff that is very familiar in the sense of having known each other for nearly 20 years and then having the basketball background too. For me, it's a great opportunity to work and grow with people that you know and trust."
