Greenleaf State Park Manager Dies While Cleaning His Gun

Muskogee County Sheriff Charles Pearson said the shooting appears to be accidental, but OSBI is investigating.

Authorities say the manager at Greenleaf State Park in Muskogee County has died in an apparent accidental shooting.

The Muskogee Phoenix reports that 54-year-old Steve Williams died at about 9 p.m. Thursday at his home in Greenleaf State Park. Muskogee County Sheriff Charles Pearson says Williams was cleaning his gun when it went off.

Pearson says it appears the shooting was accidental.

The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation will investigate because the shooting happened on state property.
