Oral Roberts got a complete-game outing from pitcher Drew Bowen for their third-consecutive win Thursday, knocking off Missouri State 1-0.
Bowen (4-1) pitched nine shutout innings for the Golden Eagles, giving up just six hits, walking one and striking out five of the 34 batters he faced. The Bears' Pierce Johnson (1-4) received a loss, giving up just one earned run and four hits, despite striking out 12 batters in the process.
His one earned run came in the bottom of the fourth inning, thanks to the speed of Kevin Cho.
The junior outfielder hit a leadoff single, and advanced to second thanks to a walk by Cam Schiller. Two at-bats later, Nate Goro singled to center field to bring Cho home and take a 1-0 lead, which would be all the Golden Eagles needed.
Oral Roberts will be back in action at 3 p.m. Friday against the Bears, before heading to Springfield, Missouri for a pair of games to close out the series.
