April 1, 1980 was a big day for the city of Tulsa. It wasn't just April Fools' Day, it was election day.
Back then the city had a different form of government, with commissioners instead of city councilors.
KOTV's coverage that night was anchored by Clayton Vaughn who had help from Melanie Roberts and reporters Gloria Strickland and Skip Nicholson.
