All of us have told a bed time story a time or two, making up characters and situations out of thin air.
A Coweta businessman decided the bedtime stories he's been telling for decades might make a series of books... and book one is finished.
What Jerry Showman has launched a second career as a children's author.
He started creating the adventures of Alice and her friend Herman the bedbug in 1974 when his kids would ask for a bedtime story.
Alice and her friends have lived for decades. Herman is no ordinary bedbug.
"He's got magical powers. He can shrink Alice down to his size so they can be playmates," Jerry said.
Jerry had never written the stories down until last summer when he got the idea kids beyond his own family might like them too.
If you type in "Alice and Herman the Bedbug" on your favorite search engine, up pops his listing on Amazon.
