We're watching an area of stratus cloud cover advecting quickly north out of the Texas area this morning.  This pattern would favor the development and movement of the stratus northward into our area and could last for a few hours this morning.

The southwest winds will eventually begin to push the moisture eastward and allow for partly sunny conditions.  The winds today will be very strong and the fire danger will be moderately high as winds combined with dry vegetation and low humidity this afternoon will promote the rapid spread of wild fire.  You're encouraged to restrain from outdoor burning today and also tomorrow as a strong cold front moves across the area with north winds.

The front will slide across the region overnight and should clear the Tulsa metro around 3am.  The moisture content will be deep enough to promote a slight chance of scattered storms ahead of the boundary and this will more than likely occur to the northeast of the Tulsa metro between the hours of midnight and 3AM. Locations from Nowata eastward into southwestern Missouri will have the best chance of the scattered storms during this small window of opportunity.

Temperatures tomorrow will drop back down to below the normal average with morning lows in the lower 30s and afternoon highs in the upper 30s or lower 40s.  North winds will continue tomorrow in the 10 to 20 mph range for most of the day.

The extended is a little murky.

A boundary will be near the northern OK vicinity for Thursday and Friday and could easily slide southward.  Locations north of the boundary will experience highs in the upper 40s or lower 50s while locations south of the boundary will be in the upper 50s and lower 60s.  There's no clear cut signal in the model data regarding which side of the boundary the Tulsa metro will reside Thursday and Friday.  At this point in the forecast cycle, we'll stick with the Tulsa area remain south of the boundary which would keep us in the relatively warmer air. The extended remains a very low confidence forecast.
