Tulsa Run Celebrates Its 34th Year

The Tulsa Run celebrated its 34th year with cool, clear weather and thousands of competitors with their eyes on the finish line.

TULSA, Oklahoma -- The Tulsa Run celebrated its 34th year with cool, clear weather and thousands of competitors with their eyes on the finish line. Over 10,000 runners of all ages took their mark in downtown Tulsa Saturday morning to meet the challenge.

Events included the 15k Tulsa Run, a 15K for race walkers, a 5k wheelchair race and a 2k fun run. The main event began with a starter's pistol at 9 a.m.

Awards were given for top male and female runners, top Masters' race walkers, top wheelers and all age grounds in the 5k and 15k races.

Many Tulsans volunteered for the event, from handing out race packets to manning the rest stations. If you missed this year, be sure to start training for 2012.
