OKMULGEE, Oklahoma -- Two people were injured Friday evening when an ultralight airplane hit a power line and crashed to the ground near Oklmulgee.
The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says the pilot was experiencing engine problems as he attempted to land the craft just north of Okmulgee near U.S. Highway 75.
Troopers say the pilot was flown by medical helicopter to a Tulsa hospital, but a female passenger was transported by ambulance. The extent of the injuries are not known.
Although the plane did strike a power line, the OHP says there was no extensive power outage in the area.
Names have not yet been released.
Investigators from the FAA are expected to arrive at the crash scene on Saturday.
