CHOCTAW, Oklahoma -- Millwood slowed down the pace of the game in the second half and eliminated Tonkawa 36-24 Thursday in the Class 2A quarterfinals.
The Buccaneers jumped out to an early 6-2 advantage. The Falcons scored the next four points to tie the game at 6-6 entering the second quarter.
Millwood had a 18-14 edge at halftime.
Millwood’s Delford Robinson opened up the third quarter scoring six straight points for the Falcons, extending their lead to 10 points. The Falcons were content on burning time off the clock in the second half once they gained a double-digit lead.
Tonkawa cut Millwood’s lead down to nine in the fourth quarter, but couldn’t get any closer.
Robinson led all scorers with 15 points.
Millwood will face Preston Friday in the Class 2A semifinals at State Fair Arena.
