OKLAHOMA CITY-- The Lady Eagles continue to improve, having their first winning season last year, boasting a new coach this year and a fight in them to make it to post season.

Harding Prep returns four starters and a healthy, excited bench.

“We’ve got a strong team, a young team,” new head coach Janiece Cranmer said. “I’ve seen a lot of competitiveness, a lot of drive, a lot of energy.”

The players have also noticed the change of leadership in the coaching staff has paid off on the hardwood.

“The workouts were a lot harder. She pushed us,” senior Darreletha Todd said. “When we hit the court, we realized we were conditioned good.”

The team opened their season with a 60-38 loss to the tough Oklahoma City Storm and face a tough district ahead of them, but while they may be a young program, they’re not discouraged.

“We’re a fairly new program, but 4A’s no slack class in Oklahoma,” Carnmer said. “No one’s feeling sorry for us, and we’re not feeling sorry for us either.”
