OKLAHOMA CITY, Oklahoma -- The Deer Creek-Lamont Eagles could easily be in the run for the Gold Ball. They have a healthy, full roster and have several players who have plenty of experience.

With the reign of the Shattuck Indians coming to an end, the class seems wide open and ready for the taking. It’s an opportunity Head Coach David Zachary is focused on.

Tight end Levi Reese returns with a rehabilitated ACL. The senior has been playing on a torn ligament for the last few years, but said he now “trusts” his knee to hold up. Lawson Thompson returns at quarterback after getting some valuable playing time last year as a freshman. It’ll be his second year to start, which will come in handy offensively for the Eagles.

On defense, Kayle Tingley will be a threat to anyone he line up across. While he’s in the trenches on defense, he prefers to play on offense as center, because he likes the “crack back blocks.”
