TULSA, Oklahoma -- East Central jumped out to a double-digit first half lead against Ardmore and cruised to the 5A state semifinals with a 56-48 win.
Damion Hooks had a game-high 19 points for the Cardinals, while Trey Cohee led Ardmore with 14.
The Cardinals led by four points at the end of the first quarter and extended that lead to 29-19 by halftime.
After East Central went up by 15 at the end of the end of third quarter, the Cardinals held off the Tigers despite a barrage of Ardmore three-pointers in the final minutes.
East Central will play Booker T. Washington in the state semifinals at 6 p.m. on Friday.
