TULSA, Oklahoma – Bishop Kelley grabbed momentum heading into tournament play with a 59-54 win over Skiatook on Monday night.

Bishop Kelley had a balanced scoring attack, with Hank Lowe, Jack Cameron, and Alex Maguire each recording 10 points. Brett Cooper led the Bulldogs with a game-high 20, while Eric White added 18.

The Comets jumped out to a 13-10 lead in the first quarter, but the Bulldogs kept it close through the entire first half. Bishop Kelley appeared to take control when a Kohl Stover bucket put the Comets ahead 29-25, but the Bulldogs battled back and went into the break with a 33-32 lead after Jo Jo Staires hit a half court heave at the buzzer.

Bishop Kelley pulled away in the second half, however, and went on to win.

Both teams will kick off 5A tournament play on Friday. The Comets will take on Pryor at East Central, while Skiatook battles Memorial at Memorial.
