OKLAHOMA CITY, Oklahoma – Putnam City West opened its season on a winning note. The Patriots defeated the defending 6A champions Putnam City, 62-61 at Putnam City West High School.

The Pirates trailed by two, when Tyler Neal scored the go-ahead basket for Putnam City West with 11 seconds left in the fourth quarter. Neal led the Patriots with 18 points, teammate Amric Field scored 17 points.

Dominique Raney led the Pirates with 21 points
