OSU Depth Chart

Notes from the just released OSU depth chart:

At quarterback true freshman Johnny Deaton and redshirt freshman Clint Chelf are both listed as Brandon Weedens backup. 
Hubert Anyiam, last seasons leading receiver, is not listed on the depth chart at any of the wide receiver spots.  He is recovering from a broken foot suffered in spring practice.  Bo Bowling and Colton Chelf are the two listed at Anyiams outside receiver spot.
The offensive line is a work in progress and will likely be a fluid situation, but here are the starters as listed:
LT-Nick Martinez, LG-Jonathan Rush, C-Grant Garner, RG-Lane Taylor, RT-Levy Adcock.
Jeremy Smith is listed as Kendall Hunters backup at running back, but expect freshman Joseph Randle (whos listed third) to factor in as well.

On defense Richetti Jones is listed as the starter at end opposite Ugo Chinasa.  Jamie Blatnick, whos felony charges were reduced to misdemeanor on Friday, is listed as Jones backup.
James Thomas is the starter at star linebacker
Johnny Thomas the starter at free safety with Victor Johnson the backup.

And on special teams true freshman cornerback Justin Gilbert, who returned a punt for touchdown in the Cowboys second preseason scrimmage, is listed as the starting punt returner with Josh Cooper the backup.  Its possible that Gilbert will return punts in more open field situations with Cooper, who has more experience, out there for short field situations where fair catch or a quick decision on whether to field or let the ball roll is required.
