What in the name of Chris Weinke happened in Stillwater Thursday?   26-year-old former Yankees farmhand Brandon Weeden rescued the Cowboys' season and BCS hopes.   Thursday's pull-it-out -of the-fire effort wasn't Weeden's first career save.   The former Edmond Santa Fe star had three of them over the course of 226 innings in four years as a pitcher in the Yankees' minor league system.   Rallying a football team from 11 down against Colorado may not be holding off the Pawtucket Red Sox in the bottom of the ninth.   But when it comes to experience, there's no substitute for live competition at a high level.   Weeden has shown he has what it takes no matter the sport or situation.

Good college basketball Saturday.   I'm doing OSU vs. North Texas television play-by-play with my man Bryndon Manzer.   Hope you'll check out the Cowboys on Cox Channel 7.
