DENVER -- As the Thunder prepare to take on Denver Saturday, they are faced with uncertainty as to just which backcourt they will be facing.
Nuggets’ shooting guard Aaron Afflalo has seen limited minutes over the past month due to injury, playing just 53 minutes since March, 19 and missing 12 contests completely. Normally, the third-year guard from UCLA plays a big part in the Denver scheme, averaging 33.7 minutes per contest, while scoring 12.6 points per game.
However, Oklahoma City players are not completely unfamiliar with Afflalo. During his years at UCLA, Thunder point guard Russell Westbrook was roommates with Afflalo, and knows what to expect from the Nuggets’ two-guard.
The Thunder leads the series 2-0 heading into Game 3 at 9 p.m. CST, Saturday.
