OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- The University of Oklahoma football team was honored at the state Capitol Wednesday for their impressive 2009-2010 season.
Head coach Bob Stoops and more than a dozen players were recognized for the Sooners' 2010 Big XII Championship and their 48-20 win over Connecticut in the Fiesta Bowl.
The Senate also adopted Senate Concurrent Resolution 3, which commends the Sooners for their accomplishments.
In 2010, the Sooners became just the seventh program in college football history to win 800 games and extended their home winning streak to 36 games, the longest active streak in the country.
After the resolution was adopted, Stoops and several players posed for photographs with senators in the Senate lounge.
The annual Oklahoma Red-White spring game is scheduled for Saturday, April 16 with a tentative kickoff time of 2 p.m.
