TULSA, Oklahoma -- It’s been a difficult week for the family of Wilson Holloway, the former Tulsa football player who lost his long battle to cancer.
The loss of the young man resonated throughout the state, from Edmond, where he attended high school and played basketball with Blake Griffin to Tulsa, where he played for the Golden Hurricane. He’s remembered for his infectious smile and uplifting spirit.
Holloway was honored Wednesday, a week after his passing, at a memorial held at the Sharp Chapel on the campus of the University of Tulsa.
Speakers included TU Defensive Secondary Coach Jess Loepp, Wilson Holloway’s mother and former teammate and roommate Tyler Holmes, among others.
