TULSA, Oklahoma – The University of Tulsa women’s basketball team has spent a lot of time away from the Reynolds Center this year. Only one of the Golden Hurricane’s games has been at home and that was a tough loss to Emporia State.
On Saturday afternoon, TU played their 2nd home game of the year. And this one went exactly like they wanted.
Texas A&M International was able to keep up with Tulsa for the bulk of the first half. But the Golden Hurricane took over in the 2nd half to put the game out of reach. And Tulsa picks up their first home win of year as they beat the Dustdevils 83-50.
Tulsa’s Taleya Mayberry led all scorers with 28 points and Denise Lewis had an outstanding game for the Golden Hurricane, scoring 17 points and grabbing 20 rebounds.
Tulsa now gets to take an extended holiday break. TU’s next game will be January 2nd when they travel to Stephen F. Austin.
