OKLAHOMA CITY – The Thunder did an excellent job of accounting for Spurs superstar Tim Duncan on Sunday.

What they didn’t account for – not that anyone could blame them for it – was forward Matt Bonner.

Bonner led the Spurs to a 117-104 victory against OKC thanks to 21 points on perfect 7-of-7 shooting.

He averaged just four points per game in just two games of playing time leading up to San Antonio’s matchup with the Thunder.

Oklahoma City had several big leads early in the game, including an 11-point lead from a pair of James Harden free throws late in the first quarter.

San Antonio rallied back in the second quarter thanks to eight points from Tony Parker in a span of just more than two minutes. The Thunder led by six at half time.

The Spurs didn’t get their first lead until Richard Jefferson sank a free throw partway through the third to put his team up 71-70.

From there, it was all downhill for Oklahoma City, which fell to 5-4 on the season.

Forwards Jeff Green and Nick Collison both made their returns in the Thunder lineup on Sunday.

Green had missed the previous three games with a sprained ankle and had 12 points in his return.

Collison, who had been out since before the preseason with a knee injury, had two points and three boards in 11 minutes.

Kevin Durant led OKC with 23 points. Russell Westbrook added 19 to go with eight assists.

San Antonio beat the Thunder at one of its own games on Sunday, as the Spurs shot 34-38 (90 percent) from the free-line.

The Thunder won’t have much time to dwell on the loss, for they hit the road and will face the Utah Jazz on Monday evening at 8 p.m.
