FRISCO, Texas -- After only giving up one run to Frisco Saturday, the Tulsa Drillers gave up three home runs in the final four innings Sunday to fall to the Rough Riders 11-4.
Tulsa (55-63) hit two RBI doubles in the top of the fifth to score three runs and close the gap to three runs.
After Drillers’ reliever Ching Lung Lo came in with two on base, he surrendered a home run to Renny Osuna to push the Frisco (61-57) lead to 9-3. In the next at-bat, Emerson Frostad put one over the center field wall to push the lead to seven runs.
Marcus Lemon lead off the bottom of the eighth with a home run to right field to take an 11-3 run and add insurance to an already big lead.
The Drillers added one more run to their total, a Mitchell two-out home run to left field, but couldn’t overcome the big deficit.
Keith Weiser (8-7) was credited with a loss for the outing, after allowing five earned runs on 11 hits in his 5.2 innings of service. Frisco got 6.2 innings of service from Richard Blier (7-9) who gave up just three earned runs in his outing.
The three-game series will conclude at 7 p.m. Monday before Tulsa heads back to OneOK Field for a six-game home stand.
