OKLAHOMA CITY, Oklahoma -- The Oklahoma City Thunder looked to build on last season’s 50-32 record by building its roster through Thursday’s NBA Draft.
Oklahoma City’s general manager Sam Presti has made a name for himself, strategically positioning his team to grow in the long-term. Many Thunder fans were anxious to see who their team would pick up.
“It was an exciting night for us,” Presti said. “This evening, we feel like we walk away a little better than when we started.”
Presti and Rob Hennigan, Thunder’s Director of College and International Player Personel, discussed the team’s strategy going into the draft.
Despite making rumored trades and swaps, league rules technically prohibit Presti from acknowledging the now common-knowledge acquisition of Cole Aldrich.
“I know tonight, specifically, there are going to be several questions I will not be able to discuss,” Presti said to the media following the completion of the draft.
“Per league rules, it prohibits me from addressing them directly.”
