TULSA, Oklahoma – The Tulsa softball team grabbed the No. 2 seed in the 2010 Conference USA Softball Championship and will face 7th-seeded Memphis in the first round.
The Golden Hurricane will face the Tigers at Houston on Thursday at 11 a.m. and the winner will play the winner of the UCF-UTEP contest on Friday. Tulsa won two of three games against Memphis during the regular season.
TU, which finished the season with a three-game road sweep at Marshall, picked up the No. 2 seed after finishing 31-20 overall and 14-6 in Conference USA.
The other side of the eight-team bracket includes top-seeded East Carolina and No. 8 Southern Miss, which play at 4:30 p.m. Thursday, and No. 4 UAB and No. 5 seed and host team, Houston, which play at 7 p.m. Thursday. The semifinal games are set for Friday at 3 p.m. and 5:30 p.m., and the championship game will be played Saturday at 1:30 p.m. live on CBS College Sports.
