The 13th-ranked Oklahoma softball team closed out action at the Louisville Slugger Desert Classic Sunday morning with a 10-0 five-inning win over Long Beach State.
The Sooners continued their offensive explosion with 10 hits on the morning.
Freshman Jessica Shults finished the game perfect at the plate and one single shy of the cycle. Shults hit her fifth home run of the season and second grand slam in the win.
The softball team now travels to Cathedral City, California for the Cathedral City Classic
The No. 22 Oklahoma baseball team completed a four-game sweep of San Diego State on Sunday with a 5-2 win in the series finale.
Junior Bobby Shore tossed seven innings and allowed one run en route to the victory. Shore held the Aztecs hitless for the first 4 2/3 innings and finished with five strikeouts, one walk and five hits allowed.
For the second straight game, OU jumped on top early with a 4-0 lead after the top of the fourth, and finished the game with 11 hits, including a season-high three home runs.
Junior Elliott Blair led the offensive output with a career-high four hits and two RBIs.
The baseball teams returns to action next weekend in Jacksonville, Fla. in the Jacksonville Tournament. OU will battle Valparaiso, Jacksonville and Richmond in the tournament.
