Oklahoma State Drops Texas A&M

STILLWATER, Oklahoma -- It was an emotional night for everyone in Stillwater, it was only the second time in school history that the Cowboys played on the anniversary of the tragic plane crash that killed 10 associated with the OSU basketball program.

The first time was in 2007 when Oklahoma State beat Iowa State, and the 2010 game would be no different. The Cowboys beat Texas A&M 76-69.

OSU had to overcome a slow start to get the victory over the Aggies.

TAMU started the game on an 18-2 run in the first five minutes of the game, and the Cowboys had to battle back to tie the game at 26 with one minute left in the half.

OSU’s usual offensive leader James Anderson struggled in the first half, shooting 1-of-2 for two points and two fouls in the opening 20 minutes.

Obi Muonelo carried Oklahoma State in the first half, shooting 5-of-7, including three 3-pointers, to finish the opening period with 13 points.

OSU started the second half strong, going on a 6-0 run two minutes into the second half to take a 32-30 lead.

Texas A&M would keep it close until the 11-minute mark, when the Cowboys took a 42-41 lead after Anderson converted on two free throws and would never look back.

Muonelo continued to be the hero for the Cowboys, finishing the game with 24 points, while Anderson got his act together, scoring 19 points, grabbing six rebounds and dishing out seven assists.

Keiton Page did his part as well, scoring 16 points in the game, 12 of which came from behind the arc.

Oklahoma State will try to continue the win streak in Columbia against Missouri Jan. 30.
