TULSA, Oklahoma -- The Tulsa Golden Hurricane opened Conference USA play on a high note with a 73-59 victory over Tulane. TU is now 11-0 at home this season. The last time the Golden Hurricane lost at the Reynolds Center was against Memphis, January 23, 2009.
Ben Uzoh had 20 points. Jerome Jordan finished with 12 points and nine rebounds while Justin Hurtt chipped-in 14.
The Golden Hurricane (11-3, 1-0 C-USA) jumped out to a 12-2 lead to start the game. The Green Wave (5-9, 0-1 C-USA) tied it at 12 with 12:26 remaining in the first half but was not able to pull ahead. Tulsa closed out the final 4:22 of the first half on a 17-5 run to take a 39-25 lead into halftime.
The Hurricane kept the pressure on the second half never letting its lead slip into single-digits.
Asim McQueen had 16 points while Kevin Sims finished with 12 points for the Green Wave.
