More Federal Aid Approved For Several Oklahoma Counties After February Blizzard

OKLAHOMA CITY – Governor Mary Fallin said Friday the White House has approved additional federal aid for several Oklahoma counties from the first February snow storm.

Counties covered include Craig, Creek, Jefferson, Logan, Mayes, Nowata, Okmulgee, Osage, Ottawa, Pawnee, Pottawatomie, Rogers, Stephens, Tulsa, Wagoner and Washington.

"This is good news for the state of Oklahoma and those counties hit hardest by the February storm," Fallin said.

Initial cleanup costs throughout these counties was more than $8.7 million.

Fallin said approval of a major disaster declaration means public assistance is available from the government to pay for damage to roads and bridges as well as snow removal and response costs for the snow storm that occurred January 31, 2011 - February 5, 2011.
