TULSA, Oklahoma -- T. Boone Pickens delivered the keynote address Wednesday at a forum hosted by Oklahoma State University in Tulsa.
The Texas oilman talked about sustainability and "The Pickens Plan."
Pickens says the NAT GAS Act is the next step for sustainable engery and job growth in Oklahoma.
The legislation that would provide $5 billion in subsidies for natural-gas-powered 18-wheelers.
"18 million 18 wheelers is two and a half million barrels of oil a day. And that will cut OPEC in half. That's what I'm after," he said.
The forum also featured Robert F. Kennedy Jr.
Kennedy's topic was "Green Gold Rush: A Vision For Energy Independence, Jobs and National Wealth."
