Oklahoma Flags To Fly At Half-Staff Monday For Opala

All flags on state property be flown at half-staff on Monday, October 18, in honor of Oklahoma Supreme Court Justice Marian Opala.

OKLAHOMA CITY – On Thursday, Governor Brad Henry ordered that all flags on state property be flown at half-staff on Monday, October 18, in honor of Oklahoma Supreme Court Justice Marian Opala.

Opala died October 11. In accordance with state law, the flags will fly at half-staff on the day of Justice Opala's funeral.

"Justice Opala possessed a passion for the law and a commitment to public service," Henry said.

"He dedicated his career, his keen legal mind and his immense talents to the people of Oklahoma, and there is no doubt that Oklahoma is better because of his service."
