3 Former OU Employees Named in Ticket Scandal

LAWRENCE, Kansas -- Tom Blubaugh, his wife Charlette Blubaugh and Branden Simmons, three former employees of the OU ticket office, have all been named by University of Kansas officials as being involved in improper diversion of basketball and football tickets.

Tom Blubaugh ran the OU ticket office until 2003, while Charlette was the operations manager. Tom and Charlette married after he left Oklahoma. Charlette was hired in 2004 by Kansas and later helped hire Simmons.

Simmons said he was surprised when one day Charlette gave him six Kansas basketball tickets instead of two. She told him it was a reward because she couldn't pay him what he was worth. She said the gift of extra tickets was "the way we did it at OU."
