Blog Celebrates Tulsa's Modern Architecture

TULSA---When Cole Cunningham moved to Tulsa, he noticed the Art Deco buildings but was drawn to the more modern designs dotting the skyline. Cole began collecting information on the buildings and now has a blog about them at www.moderntulsa.net.

‘It's mid-century modern that the site focuses on, but not exclusive to that,' said Cole, ‘I'm personally interested in contemporary architecture as well.  There's some fairly progressive movements going on in Tulsa on that front also, that I like to be aware of and inform others on also.'

Cunningham's site has photos of homes in Lortondale and Sungate subdivisions, examples of Modern buildings downtown and an interactive map of classic modern sights around Tulsa. From the very futuristic to the clean, minimalist modern, Cole has an opinion on every building.

‘In my opinion so much of the new buildings constructed today are just so ordinary, perfunctory,  that I love to see when something has style and charm to it,' said Cole
