Claremore Accountant Pleads Guilty In Tulsa Bribery Case

FBS Inc. accountant Stuart Jay Franklin faces a prison sentence of up to 10 years and a fine of $250,000.

The sixth and final businessman in the bribery case involving Albert Martinez, former Tulsa Public Works Field Engineering Manager, pleaded guilty today according to a release by the U.S. Attorney's Office.

FBS Inc. accountant Stuart Jay Franklin, 49, of Claremore, pleaded guilty to Procurement Fraud Bribery. He also agreed to pay the City of Tulsa his restitution obligation in the amount of $51,825.

Franklin admitted that he paid a $6,150 bribe to Martinez in September of 2008 to influence the awarding of a city contract to FBS, Inc.

The accountant's sentencing is set for December 14, 2009. He faces a prison sentence of up to 10 years and a fine of $250,000.
