TULSA, OK -- One person is dead and another is in a Tulsa hospital following what police say appears to be a murder-suicide attempt Monday evening. The incident happened in a home near 16th and Indianapolis just after 8 p.m.
Tulsa Police are still trying to figure out exactly what happened inside the home.
Police say when they arrived at the home, they saw someone run into the house. A short time later they determined 36-year-old Stacey Knapp was dead and a second person in the home, lying on the floor with a gunshot wound to the head, was still alive.
Jeremy Jones, 36, was taken by EMSA to a Tulsa hospital and is listed in critical condition.
"We have locked this residence down and obtained a search warrant for evidence, so there are more things in the house we don't know about, but our initial entry into the house was for obviously people's safety and well being and we found a deceased body and found someone critically injured in that residence," said Tulsa Police Captain Travis Yates.
A handgun and several other guns were found in the room where Jones was lying on the floor.
Tulsa Police also say they were told by a friend of Knapp, that Jones had requested a restraining order be placed against her, but that that request had been denied.
