UNDATED -- The economy has more people hitting the unemployment line, but there may be good news for Oklahomans.
The Oklahoma Employment Security Commission reports that the state unemployment rate dropped from 6.4% to 6.3%.
That's much better than many other places. Last month the unemployment rate topped 10% in 16 states.
More Oklahomans are also staying in their homes, compared to the rest of the country.
A real estate data service reports more than 5,600 homes faced foreclosure in the first half of this year, down 27% from the same time last year.
The state's rate of one foreclosure for every 289 homes is the 35th highest in the nation.
