Sexual Assault Suspect Competent To Stand Trial

TULSA, OK -- A jury has found Brandon Brixey competent to stand trial. Brixey is accused of carjacking a van, then raping one of the children inside.

The jury took about fifteen minutes Tuesday to determine Brixey is competent.

The court had originally found him incompetent to stand trial, but after spending time in state treatment, a judge declared him competent.

Brixey's family filed a civil case, asking a jury to decide instead.

A preliminary hearing for the sexual assault charge is scheduled for Monday, May 18th.
