TULSA, OK -- Oral Roberts University honored the man who's been piloting them through difficult times on Wednesday.
"During O-R-U's roughest time, the most turbulent time of our history, it was Ralph Fagin who that came forward and steadied the ship for us," said Mart Green of ORU's Board of Trustees.
Dr. Ralph Fagin has been at the helm of ORU since Richard Roberts resigned back in November OF 2007.
At a chapel service, ORU Board of Trustees President Mart Green presented Fagin with a captain's hat and a statue to thank him for his service.
ORU was more than $50 million in the red when Fagin stepped in. Through donations, lay-offs and reorganization, the university hopes to be debt-free when Dr. Mark Rutland takes over as president on July 1st.
