BIRMINGHAM, AL -- Larrissa Williams and Kara Vaughan each posted a double-double, but it wasn't enough as the Tulsa women's basketball team lost 72-63 to UAB on Thursday night.
TU fell to 6-17 on the season and 2-9 in Conference USA.
Williams led the Golden Hurricane with 25 points and 12 rebounds, while Vaughan had 13 points and 10 boards. Chanel Johnson added eight points and four blocks.
TU shot a season-high 53-percent from the field and was 33-percent from behind the arc.
Williams leed the Golden Hurricane to a 38-32 advantage at the break. In the second half, TU climbed to a game-high 10-point lead with 7:26 left to play before UAB went on a 17-0 run.
TU couldn't get things going again, scoring only five points in the final 7:26.
The Blazers were led by Amanda Peterson who scored 28 points, including eight three-pointers, while Britney Jones had 19 points.
TU will return to action 2 p.m. Sunday against Memphis at the Reynolds Center.
