Elderly Couple Killed In Crash

PAWHUSKA, Okla. (AP) -- An elderly Wynona couple has died in a head-on crash with an Oklahoma Highway Patrol cruiser.

The patrol identified the victims of yesterday's crash as 80-year-old Joyce Moles and her husband, 85-year-old Weepy Moles.

Patrol spokesman Lt. George Brown says the crash occurred at 3:36 p.m., about three-tenths of a mile north of Pawhuska along Oklahoma 99.

Witnesses told investigators that a pickup truck driven by Joyce Moles appeared to veer left across the center line and then turned in front of patrol's cruiser, resulting in the head-on collision.

Both victims were killed on impact. OHP trooper Robert Reigner, who was driving the southbound patrol car, received possible minor injuries in the collision.
